About 30 Vietnamese students have dropped out of Gyeongsang National University without any notice this year according to local media.
The Jinju-based university said that about 10% of 300 Vietnamese students enrolled in undergraduate programs have been registered as missing, showing loopholes in the management of international students at the national university.
Gyeongsang National University said it will either apply a strict screening process or refuse admissions of Vietnamese students, as a number of students have not been in attendance to academic courses.
The immigration office is currently trying to locate the students’ whereabouts. The university suspects that the students have left the school to work illegally.
