A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck in the waters off Pohang at 12:53 p.m. this afternoon.
The exact location of the earthquake was 36.16 degrees north latitude, 129.90 degrees east longitude, and the occurrence depth is 21 kilometers and 58 km east of Northeast Pohang according to the Korean Meteorological Administration.
According to the KMA, the earthquake in the waters near the Pohang area resulted in a maximum seismic intensity of 3 in Gyeongbuk and Ulsan, and a maximum seismic intensity of 2 in Gangwon, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Busan.
A Grade 2 is a vibration that can be felt by a small number of people on the upper floors of a building.
No reports of damages have been reported.
Pohang also registered a 4.6 earthquake almost a year to the day last year.
