5th Anniversary of Sewol Ferry Tragedy Events Around Busan

Marking the 5th anniversary of the sinking of the Sewol ferry, Busan will hold a number of commemorative ceremonies and events to remember the ferry sinking victims and to enhance public awareness of maritime safety.

The Busan city council is currently holding an illustration exhibition under the title of ‘Memoir of 416 Danwon High School: Short, and Everlasting’ at the passageway of Busan City Hall subway station until the 18th of this week.

All elementary, middle and high schools in Busan will be observing a moment of silence in memory of the student victims today at 10 am.

The ‘Memorial cultural event for the 5th anniversary of the Sewol ferry’ will be held at the Rose Park in Hwamyeong-dong at 7 pm today.

Also, a memorial concert will be hosted by a civic group in Democracy Park in Joonggangdang on the 18th at 7 pm.
