Local low-cost carrier, Air Busan, has implemented a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) detection system, as the first airline to do so in the country.
Air Busan said that it will apply this self-developed system in all of its businesses starting today.
This system requires all airline staff to take their BAC level before going on duty. If their BAC level exceeds 0.02 percent, that individual will be suspended from carrying out their duties.
An official from the company said that Air Busan can enhance their safety capabilities and that aviation under the influence of alcohol should be dealt with heavier consequences.
