The bicycle-only lanes that stretch from Kyungsung University to Pukyoung National University will be demolished.
The 1.2 km bike-only lanes have hardly been used according to the local Namgu district office.
In a CCTV survey last year from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for one week, less than 10 riders per hour used the bike lanes.
The district has previously tried to eliminate the lanes which are usually clogged with garbage and parked motorcycles, but the city decided to maintain them because of the low carbon and green traffic numbers it adds to its city statistics.
The demolition of the bike paths will also help make way for the new Oryukdo Line tram that is scheduled to be built in the Yongho-dong area.
Opened in 2009, the bike lanes have long been complained about by people in the area due to causing traffic jams and safety fence collisions.
No date has been set for the demolition of the bike paths.
