Bounce 2019 Headlines Busan Startup Week

‘Bounce 2019’, the main event of Busan Startup Week which takes place until the 11th will be held at Westin Chosun Hotel Busan on November 6th and 7th.

Bounce is the third global startup event this year, with more than 1,000 attendees from over 20 countries every year, including programmatic topics, demonstrations, seminars, awards, and networking. 

The opening ceremony will be held at the Westin Chosun Hotel Busan Grand Ballroom at 5 pm on the 6th. At this meeting place, members of both domestic and overseas startup ecosystems will hold opening ceremonies and welcome startup networking to provide opportunities for sharing information and building networks among various actors.

On November 7, the event will begin at 10 am with the theme of the global startup ecosystem.

This year’s keynote speaker, Christine Yu from Asia’s largest angel investment group, AngelVest from Hong Kong, will open the event under the theme, “Opportunities for Asian Technology-Based Impact Investment.”

Next, Tyler Rasch, CEO of overseas expansion consulting firm T-able, plans to share the story of startups’ global expansion.

In addition, investors and accelerators from all over the world deliver trends in the startup ecosystems from France, Canada and the United States.

The first Korean startup in Finland, Pore Sync, and Braille for the visually impaired, Smartwatch Dot, are also planning to share their experiences with many startups preparing to go abroad.

Starting at 4:00 pm on the 7th, Lotte Accelerator, the first company to discover and foster startups in Busan, will hold the ‘L-Camp Busan Demo Day’ and run an IR pitch and booth.

All lectures will be conducted in English.

On the second floor, a global venture investment show is held, and domestic and overseas investment companies are held. 

The startup lounge on the second floor also hosts a variety of organizations and collaborative programs.

Social venture startups and investors gather crowdfunding show X Impact Forum, blockchain ‘Travel Blockchain for Travel’ of tourism business using blockchain, and Lotte Open Innovation Day, which shares collaboration cases between large companies and startups. 

Starting at 6:00 pm on the 7th, a bounce booster networking party will be held where all speakers, startups and investors can gather. Pre-registration and detailed information on each program can be found on the official website (www.bswbounce.com) and Eventors (www.event-us.kr/10051).

“We have prepared programs to read global startup trends. This event will serve as a platform to provide collaboration opportunities with the global startup ecosystem across the region. I hope that everyone who is interested in will have a great time to get information and feel the enthusiasm for starting a business in Busan,” an official from the city Busan said.
