Busan Ranked as Top City for Children Well-being in Korea


The city of Busan has been selected as the best city for children in the country.

Busan ranked number 1 in the Child Well-being Composite Index in Korea, according to a study conducted by the Seoul National University’s Social Welfare Research Institute that worked alongside a non-governmental organization, Save The Children.

The Child Well-being composite index measures 46 indicators in eight categories of health, subjective happiness, child relationship, materials, risk and safety education, living environment and others.

Busan ranked first with 119.39 points. Sejong city followed next with 112.76 points, then Daejeon at 112.52 points, then Daegu and Incheon.

The survey was conducted on 10,650 students of elementary and middle schools from 17 cities across the nation.
