Busan to Expand Child Benefits to 7-year-olds

The City of Busan said that 25,000 additional people will receive child benefits as the age of children to qualify the benefit has been expanded to include up to 7-year-olds.

The child benefit system was implemented for the first time last September.

This year, the system has been benefiting all families with children under six regardless of the parents’ income or finances.

After the age of eligibility has been expanded to include 7-year-olds, which include those born between October 2012 and August 2013, more can receive the benefits without an additional application process.

Those who have never applied for child benefit may visit their registered community service center or go to www.bokjiro.go.kr for more information and registration.
