Busanjin-gu Looking to Establish Muslim Prayer Room Location

Busanjin-gu is looking to establish a Muslim Prayer Room in its district in order to attract more Muslim tourists.

If built, it would be the first prayer room in a public space among major sightseeing locations in the city built by a district office.

The district office, however, is having some difficulty securing a location as land prices in the area have become a stumbling block.

They’ve tried to establish one in Bupyeong Market and Lotte Department Store but both places have no vacancies at the moment.

There are currently only three places in the city with Muslim prayer rooms — Busan Al-Fatah Mosque, Busan Crown Harbor Hotel in Jung-gu and on the third floor of Gimhae International Airport.
