To mark the 40th anniversary of the Bu-Ma Democratic Protests, choirs from 9 cities across the country gathered in Busan to sing together.
The pan-national promotion committee and the Busan Democratic Movement Memorial Association said yesterday that they will hold a choir festival at the Sohyang Theatre in Haeundae-gu at 3 pm on the 12th.
At the event sponsored by Busan City, South Gyeongsang Province, Ulsan City and Seoul Metropolitan Government, 10 choirs from 9 cities will participate to sing under the themes of labor, freedom, memory, resistance, courage, peace and hope.
The choirs will sing 20 songs in all, and then combine to sing “Namdo-eui Norae”, a song about the Buma uprising.
