The Cultural Heritage Administration has made an announcement that they have applied to register the old Dongnae Station in Nakmin-dong, Dongrae-gu as a cultural asset.
The old station is a single-story building built on July 15th, 1934.
It was the first station completed among all the stops along the Donghae Nambu railroad.
The station was used to be the base for troop transports during the Japanese colonial era.
It was also a place for early morning markets in the plaza at that time.
The old station has been evaluated as having enough preservation value due to architectural drawings that show the changes in development.
