Dongnae Station Enlisted as Registered Cultural Asset No. 753

The City of Busan has announced that the Busan’s Old Dongnae Station in Nakmin-dong in Dongrae-gu has been enlisted as a registered cultural asset No. 753.

Upon this opportunity, the city and the Dingnae-gu office are planning to restore the old station building to how it was during the Japanese colonial era.

The old station is a single-story building built on July 15th, 1934.

It was the first station completed among all the stops along the Donghae Nambu railroad.
The station was used to be the base for troop transports during the Japanese colonial era.

It was also a place for early morning markets in the plaza at that time.

The old station has been evaluated as having enough preservation value due to architectural drawings that show the changes in development.
