2019 Polar Experience Expo @ Busan Marine Natural History Museum
The “2019 Polar Experience Expo” will be held at the Busan Marine Natural History Museum from November 21 to December 29. The polar region is the last unexplored place on earth, and now it is growing in importance not only in scientific research but also in international relations, beyond the era of challenge and pioneering. Starting with the relationship between the polar and humanity, this exhibition also presents polar life, research supplies, and polar relics, which are hard to come across. Participants are expected to discover the impact of polar regions on our lives and their new values. The exhibition will provide information on the natural environment of the polar region, flora and fauna of the polar region, scientific research in the polar regions, and information on cooperation among nations centered on the polar regions and polar pioneers. Audiovisual experience programs such as the operation of a laboratory, a polar movie theater and it consists of hands-on classrooms for various experiences such as ice-breaking, board games, penguin games, underwater drones, and making polar eco-bags. In particular, during the exhibition period, polar commentators of the Polar Ocean Future Forum will stay in the exhibition hall and provide visitors with polar commentary services to help visitors to relax. The opening ceremony will be held at 4 pm on November 21st. Participation is through pre-registration and can be submitted by email (araonday@daum.net). In addition, at 11 am every Saturday during the experience exhibition, the ‘People’s Polar Course invited by the Institute of Polar Research Institute’ will be held.

The Hanbok Hall exhibits hanboks and accessories during the period of the Joseon Dynasty and lets visitors try on various styles of hanboks, including modern designs. Visitors are able to take a photo from the virtual fitting set and then receive a photo of themselves wearing a hanbok, traditional Korean dress, by email. The Busan Hanbok Hall is located on the first floor of BEXCO auditorium and is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. It is closed on Mondays. Admission is free. The last admission is 30 minutes before closing and is closed during lunch, which is from noon until 1 pm. Groups of more than 10 people need to make a reservation by calling 070-8840-1472.

An international food tasting event will be held in Jeonpo-dong from the 15th of November ahead of the coming Korea-ASEAN Special Summit. Dishes from 10 ASEAN countries’ famous local restaurants can be tasted from the 15th to the 27th at the Norimaru area in Jeonpodong. The “2019 Korea-ASEAN Food Street” will be held to introduce food from ASEAN countries that are gaining popularity in Korea, in hopes for the successful Korea-ASEAN special summit. ‘Korea Pavilion’ will organize a youth food truck to present Korean foods that add the taste of ASEAN to the representative foods of Korea under the theme of meeting Korea and ASEAN. Special coffee, which blends ASEAN coffee, sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will also be provided free of charge on the 16th.

The Hanbok Hall exhibits hanboks and accessories during the period of the Joseon Dynasty and lets visitors try on various styles of hanboks, including modern designs. Visitors are able to take a photo from the virtual fitting set and then receive a photo of themselves wearing a hanbok, traditional Korean dress, by email. The Busan Hanbok Hall is located on the first floor of BEXCO auditorium and is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. It is closed on Mondays. Admission is free. The “2019 Polar Experience Expo” will be held at the Busan Marine Natural History Museum from November 21 to December 29. The polar region is the last unexplored place on earth, and now it is growing in importance not only in scientific research but also in international relations, beyond the era of challenge and pioneering. Starting with the relationship between the polar and humanity, this exhibition also presents polar life, research supplies, and polar relics, which are hard to come across. Participants are expected to discover the impact of polar regions on our lives and their new values. The exhibition will provide information on the natural environment of the polar region, flora and fauna of the polar region, scientific research in the polar regions, and information on cooperation among nations centered on the polar regions and polar pioneers. Audiovisual experience programs such as the operation of a laboratory, a polar movie theater and it consists of hands-on classrooms for various experiences such as ice-breaking, board games, penguin games, underwater drones, and making polar eco-bags. In particular, during the exhibition period, polar commentators of the Polar Ocean Future Forum will stay in the exhibition hall and provide visitors with polar commentary services to help visitors to relax. The opening ceremony will be held at 4 pm on November 21st. Participation is through pre-registration and can be submitted by email (araonday@daum.net). In addition, at 11 am every Saturday during the experience exhibition, the ‘People’s Polar Course invited by the Institute of Polar Research Institute’ will be held.

ASEAN Food Tasting Event @ Norimaru, Jeonpo-dong
An international food tasting event will be held in Jeonpo-dong from the 15th of November ahead of the coming Korea-ASEAN Special Summit. Dishes from 10 ASEAN countries’ famous local restaurants can be tasted from the 15th to the 27th at the Norimaru area in Jeonpodong. The “2019 Korea-ASEAN Food Street” will be held to introduce food from ASEAN countries that are gaining popularity in Korea, in hopes for the successful Korea-ASEAN special summit. ‘Korea Pavilion’ will organize a youth food truck to present Korean foods that add the taste of ASEAN to the representative foods of Korea under the theme of meeting Korea and ASEAN. Special coffee, which blends ASEAN coffee, sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will also be provided free of charge on the 16th.
