Almost every kid back home grew up with a love of mac and cheese. With a little work and a stove top, you too can relive your childhood food fantasy’s all over again with this great dish.
What You Need
1/4 bag of macaroni
1/2 cups of milk
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
2-3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons of butter
1. Boil the Pasta: Bring about a half a pot of water to a boil over high heat in the pasta pot. Add the pasta and a tablespoon of salt. Cook until the pasta is al dente or to your preference.
2. Make the Cheese Sauce: Turn the heat to low and add the butter. When melted, lightly whisk in the flour and avoid clumps. Add the milk and stir until bubbling. Turn off the heat and add the cheese.
4. Combine the Pasta and Cheese Sauce: In a large bowl, combine the pasta and the cheese sauce.
If you want to bake the mac and cheese, transfer the contents into a baking dish, top with shredded cheddar and bake until golden brown.
