A 20-year-old female university student suffered serious injuries after being randomly stabbed by a 21-year-old male.

Busan Sasang Police have said that they are investigating the 21-year-old for having stabbed the left side of the victim who had been reading a book.

The incident happened on the second floor of a cafe in front of Dongseo University at 9:20 p.m. on Monday night.

According to the police, the victim ran away after grabbing the wound area after being stabbed by the weapon, and then dozens of people on the second floor of the cafe ran out screaming.

The suspect was arrested on the spot by a police officer who was dispatched within five minutes after employees and customers notified the authorities.
