Four Major Sports Events Taking Place in Busan this Year

There are four major international sports competitions scheduled in the port city this year.

On the 7th of this month, the national football team led by Paulo Bento will compete against Australia at Asiad Main Stadium, the first national team match in 15 years in Busan.

The match will be followed by the International Table Tennis Federation’s Korea Open on July 2nd. South and North Korea are considering forming a joint team at the international table tennis tournament, attracting further attention.

In October, the US LPGA Tour will take place from the 21st until the 27th at the Asiad Country Club in Gijang, attracting some of the world’s best golfers.

Finally in December, the East Asian Cup, or the EAFF E-1 Football Championship, will be held in Busan for the first time.

The event has garnered much attention as the North Korean Women’s Football team may participate in the event.
