Chuseok is one of the biggest and most important holidays in Korea and takes place from this Thursday until Sunday.
While many restaurants and stores will likely be closed on Friday, the official day of Chuseok, there are plenty of opportunities for traditional free events around the city to enjoy.
Family members from near and far come together to share food and stories and to give thanks to their ancestors.
Free Cultural Events during Chuseok
Visitors to Busan’s museums and tourist attractions (listed below) can enjoy Korean traditional folk games, including Jegichagi (shuttlecock-kicking), tuho (traditional stick-throwing), neolttwigi, (seesaw), gulleongsoe (hoop-rolling), yut nori and more.
The Korea National Maritime Museum is holding a Chuseok Cultural Event from the 12th until the 15th.

In the “Hanbok Diver Fitting Show”, divers in traditional attire will feed fish and greet the audience for 15 minutes from 11:40 am until 11:55 am on Saturday and Sunday.
