Busan city said today the general assembly of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) will be held at Haeundae BEXCO on the 2nd of next month.
The IDF assembly has been held every two years since it was first held in the Netherlands, in 1952.
It has established itself as an important medical general meeting, with prime ministers and presidents participating in the opening ceremony.
Busan was chosen as the next hosting venue in May 2016.
Starting with the opening ceremony at 6 p.m. on the 2nd, there will be a total of 183 sessions for 5 days.
Some 230 organizations from 170 countries around the world will participate.
The meeting is expected to have an economic ripple effect of more than 87 billion won through tourism and trade.
