The 11th Busan Galmaetgil Walking Festival takes place this Saturday and Sunday with two great trails to walk and explore nature.
The festival aims to promote the fame of the Galmaet·Gil footpaths and to encourage locals and tourists alike to learn about the local history, culture and ecological environment, by taking a gentle stroll along the paths.
Galmaetgil is specially designated footpaths around Busan. The name combines two words: galmaegi, meaning “seagull” and gil, meaning “path”. To promote the city’s beautiful footpaths, the Galmaetgil symbol and logo are used on the Galmaetgil information boards, footpath maps, and signs.
With a total combined length of 263.8km, the nine Galmaegil trails are each divided into two or three shorter segments and include beautiful stretches of coastal, riverside, forest and downtown paths all around the city.
