The ‘Korea International Fishing Show BUSAN 2019’ will take place at the Exhibition Center I, BEXCO for three days from March 1 to 3, 2019.
The location for the 2019 ‘Korea International Fishing Show,’ which was held at the Korea International Exhibition Center (Kintex) in Ilsan until last year, will be in Busan. The fair will be the largest in scale, particularly this year due to the growing popularity of sea fishing.
For the first time in 2018, ‘fishing’ has recently taken the number one ranking among the favorite national pastime activities. It has even beaten out ‘mountain climbing,’ which had always ranked at the top before. Fishing has particularly become popular as a leisure activity not only for the entire family but also for women in their 20s and 30s, who have shown increasing interest in experiential leisure and the advanced fishing devices and technologies such as artificial baits (lures) due to the higher income levels and the introduction of the five-day workweek. In addition, as more office workers spend much time on hobbies for a better work-life balance, public attention to ‘fishing’ is also increasing more and more increasing. There has also been a two-fold increase in the import of fishing gear and supplies in the last five years, thus ushering in a renaissance of fishing.
Compared to last year’s fair, the 2019 show will increase in size. Moreover, considering that Busan is the global marine tourist city in Korea, the exhibition display items will range from fishing supplies to boat and camping supplies. In addition, an abundance of additional events will be operated to provide entertainment for the entire family as well as a festival space for fishing enthusiasts.
