Korea Railways & Logistics Fair, the only event of its kind in Korea and one of the world’s four largest railway trade shows, will be held June 12~15 (Wed~Sat) at BEXCO’s Exhibition Center I (Hall 1, 2).
Co-hosted by the Busan Metropolitan Government, KORAIL, and the Korea Rail Network Authority and jointly supervised by BEXCO, Messe Frankfurt Korea, KORSIA, and the Korea Railway Association, this year’s event marks the Fair’s ninth since beginning in 2003. Due to major railway-related current issues (reconstruction of a railway that connects the ROK and DPRK and the ensuing connection of the TSR [Trans-Siberian Railroad] and TCR [Trans China Railroad], enhanced international reputation after gaining membership in the OSJD [Organisation for Cooperation between Railways], plans for consistent expansion of high-speed railway and metropolitan railway networks, etc.), demand for rail cars, infrastructure, parts, and technology is expected to rise quickly. This event will be an invaluable opportunity for conducting diverse types of business as well as strengthening inter-industrial networks.
This year’s event will feature displays of the latest rail cars by manufacturers (Hyundai Rotem, Woojin Industrial Systems, Dawonsys, etc.) and will enjoy the participation of all major railway-related institutions and research centers in Korea (Korea Rail Network Authority, Korea Railroad Research Institute, Busan Transportation Corporation, etc.). Messe Frankfurt Korea will feature a special pavilion for foreign companies and offer the opportunity for business exchanges between Korean and foreign companies. And for the duration of the exhibition, networking programs for experts (technical seminars, networking reception, etc.) are available, together with employment-centered programs (information session on jobs related to railways, etc.).
The last day of the exhibition will be open to the general public. It will feature a “Korean Railway Pavilion,” offering an overview of Korea’s railroad history, a summary of the nation’s related technologies, and hands-on experience with today’s cutting-edge developments, as well as rides on actual railway cars. Many visitors and families are expected.
