Busan police have filed an arrest warrant for a man in his 50s for attacking two female tourists at an underground mall of Busan Station on line 1.
The 53-year-old man has allegedly attacked two female tourists in their 20s because he didn’t like the tattoos on them.
No details were released whether the tourists were foreign or domestic.
At 2:50 pm on the 5th, the perpetrator followed the two female victims and punched them in the face a number of times by the stairs of exit number 7 at Busan Station.
A 26-year-old tourist suffered a broken nose while the other 27-year-old victim suffered injuries to their face.
According to the police, the suspect did not ask for money, but hit them and fled through the exit less than one minute after the assault.
As it took a few days to catch the suspect, anxiety among users of the new underground walkway to the subway in Choryang-dong has been spreading.
Police initially assumed the man was homeless, but couldn’t conclusively find his whereabouts through CCTV footage.
