Man Found Dead After Hiking in Geumjeong Mountain

The dead body of a man in his 30s was found Thursday in between some rocks in Geumjeong mountain.

A 37-year-old man is believed to have tripped while hiking up the mountain and fell to his death.

Geumjeong Police had received a report from a temple monk that he found a man lying in between some rocks near a ridge in the mountain in Jangjeon-dong at around 3:35 pm yesterday.

According to police, the monk was out to check on the condition of water pipes by the lower stream in Huejeongam. The police say the monk then found the body of the 37-year-old lying in between rocks.

The police believe the man had died after a falling accident, dismissing the possibility of death involving another party.

The police are currently investigating the incident.
