Not All Toll Roads Will Be Free This LNY Holidays

Five privately built toll roads in Busan city will not be toll-free during the Lunar New Year holidays this year.

The 5 toll roads will include Sujeong mountain, Baekyeong and Sanseong tunnels; as well as Eulseok island and Busan port bridges.

They were free of toll charges during the holidays in the past.

The city said it is planning to secure a budget of about 1.6 billion won from the tolls collected this year, which it plans to use to build parks and small libraries for its citizens.

Meanwhile, Busan’s Gwangan bridge and South Gyeongsang Province’s Geoga bridge, which are run by the local governments, will be toll-free during this year’s holiday.
