Your body shivers and you think it’s high time to enjoy a hot, nutritious soup. Hanu Gomtang, a Korean beef soup, may be the thing for you. A good place to find the best is at Seoul Kkakdugi in Yeonsan-dong, which moved to a new building from its original location down the road, so it is more modern, clean and comfortable.
The unpretentious atmosphere lets you focus on what you’re really there to do — which is to warm-up and get a quick, hot meal.
The beef and soup are a perfect compliment for each other — it’s up to you to add whatever flavors you want from the side dishes to choose from. If the soup is too hot or you want it a little seasoned, putting some kimchi or/and the kimchi juice in your soup is a special trick — it makes it more healthy and adds a little kick for those who like their soup a little more spicy. Want more meat? Then Suyuk (boiled beef slices) is for you.
Seolleongtang (설렁탕) is gomtang but with noodles. Bap-ttaro (밥따로) means rice and gomtang separate, and Teuk (특) means a bigger portion.
Open: 8 am – 21:30 pm daily except Chuseok and Lunar New Year.
Address: Anyeon-ro 18, Yeonsan-9dong, Yeonje-gu, Busan
