A South Korean men’s football friendly match against Australia is set to be held in Busan.
The Korea Football Association (KFA) said South Korea, coached by Paulo Bento, will host Australia at Busan Asian Main Stadium at 8 p.m. on June 7th.
Then four days later, also at 8 p.m., South Korea will face Iran at Seoul World Cup Stadium in the nation’s capital.
Australia’s visit will complete the home-and-away series between the two teams, with South Korea having faced the Socceroos in Brisbane last November.
The national football match is the first time since a match against Germany was held in Busan back in 2004.
Busan has previously tried to attract national football matches against Chile and Uruguay last year but failed to make it happen due to poor turf conditions.
Since the end of last year, Busan city and the Busan Football Association have strengthened turf and facility management.
Last month, the Korea Football Association has responded optimistically to the efforts made and on the condition of the facility.
Ticket sales for both games have not yet been announced.
In addition to the upcoming match next month, the EAFF E-1 Championship (or otherwise known as the East Asian Cup) will be held in December in Busan.
