Starbucks Korea opened its 1,000th store in Korea this week, a premium outlet that is considered one of the top in the world.
Opened in the posh Cheongdam area in Seoul, the “Cheongdam Star” branch as it is known is fully stocked with options only a few Starbucks around the world can brag about.
The store is one of seven in Korea that features the “coffee forward” feature, which offers coffee from their reserved beans brewed with diverse extraction methods, as well as a luxury interior.
But what makes this store special is the high-end Black Eagle espresso machine — only the third such Starbucks to have one in the world. The Black Eagle espresso machine is a highly regarded espresso machine with the capacity to control the amount of liquid in the cup, getting the right consistency of espresso and ensuring maximum aroma in the cup according to the manufacturer.
It will also feature 41 additional food items not seen at other stores in the country and two exlusive drinks — the Orange & Dark Mocha and Lavender Cafe Breve.
Starbucks entered the Korean market 17 years ago with its first location in front of Ewha University in Seoul.
