Suyeong-gu Declares “War on Garbage” at Millak Riverside Park

The office of Suyeong-gu began round two of its “war on garbage” at the Millak Riverside Park.

The regional office said that it has greatly increased the number of surveillance cameras in the area from two to twelve.

The office also installed 20 additional large garbage cans — from 34 to 54 — and since the 1st of July, it has been turning off all the street lamps in the park after midnight to eradicate littering.

According to the office, there has been a 7-ton decrease in trash during this time since the office began to turn off the lights.

There were 88 tons of trash collected last month, compared to the 95 ton collected same time last year.
