Special Exhibition for the Year of the Dog: Our Old Friend, Dog @ Busan Museum

To celebrate the Year of the Dog, the Busan Museum is holding an exhibition titled “Our Old Friend, Dog,” from Friday, February 9 to Sunday, July 1, 2018. The zodiac exhibition for the year has been held at the beginning of every year since 2007 to introduce our traditional folk culture, and to share a new hope and expectation for the new year with guests.

This exhibition will present a total of 12 pieces of dog-themed artwork, including Korean wood sculptures of dogs and, old and contemporary paintings of dogs.

A special exhibition of ‘Winter Sports Science’ takes place at the Busan National Science Museum to celebrate the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. Visitors can experience science in winter sports through VR and AR technologies at the exhibition.  The admission is free. There are paid winter sports VR experience zones.

A free photograph exhibition looking at the daily lives of people from 10 Southeast Asian countries is now showing in Haeundae.

The Korea Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, presents “ASEAN People, ASEAN Lives” in the exhibition room of the ASEAN Culture Center until May 27. This exhibition features 200 different works from 119 ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) photographers, displaying the full and varied lives of people in Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

These works have been selected through an online photography contest that was conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of ASEAN’s inauguration in August 2017. More than 1,200 photographers from the 10 ASEAN countries participated in the contest.

Visitors can get a glimpse of a variety of different lifestyles as well as the beautiful nature of the ASEAN countries in various displays of tradition and modern life, including the Temple of That Luang in Laos, Saifuddin Mosque in Brunei, cow racing in Indonesia and parades in the Philippines.

-Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends. Closed Mondays and public holidays.

The Hanbok Hall exhibits hanboks and accessories during the period of the Joseon Dynasty and lets visitors try on various styles of hanboks, including modern designs. Visitors are able to take a photo from the virtual fitting set and then receive a photo of themselves wearing a hanbok, traditional Korean dress, by email.

The Busan Hanbok Hall is located on the first floor of BEXCO auditorium and is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. It is closed on Mondays. Admission is free.

The last admission is 30 minutes before closing and is closed during lunch, which is from noon until 1 pm. Groups of more than 10 people need to make a reservation by calling 070-8840-1472.

To celebrate the Year of the Dog, the Busan Museum is holding an exhibition titled “Our Old Friend, Dog,” from Friday, February 9 to Sunday, July 1, 2018. The zodiac exhibition for the year has been held at the beginning of every year since 2007 to introduce our traditional folk culture, and to share a new hope and expectation for the new year with guests.

This exhibition will present a total of 12 pieces of dog-themed artwork, including Korean wood sculptures of dogs and, old and contemporary paintings of dogs.

A free photograph exhibition looking at the daily lives of people from 10 Southeast Asian countries is now showing in Haeundae.

The Korea Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, presents “ASEAN People, ASEAN Lives” in the exhibition room of the ASEAN Culture Center until May 27. This exhibition features 200 different works from 119 ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) photographers, displaying the full and varied lives of people in Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

These works have been selected through an online photography contest that was conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of ASEAN’s inauguration in August 2017. More than 1,200 photographers from the 10 ASEAN countries participated in the contest.

Visitors can get a glimpse of a variety of different lifestyles as well as the beautiful nature of the ASEAN countries in various displays of tradition and modern life, including the Temple of That Luang in Laos, Saifuddin Mosque in Brunei, cow racing in Indonesia and parades in the Philippines.

The Hanbok Hall exhibits hanboks and accessories during the period of the Joseon Dynasty and lets visitors try on various styles of hanboks, including modern designs. Visitors are able to take a photo from the virtual fitting set and then receive a photo of themselves wearing a hanbok, traditional Korean dress, by email.

The Busan Hanbok Hall is located on the first floor of BEXCO auditorium and is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. It is closed on Mondays. Admission is free.

The last admission is 30 minutes before closing and is closed during lunch, which is from noon until 1 pm. Groups of more than 10 people need to make a reservation by calling 070-8840-1472.

Visitors are able to take a photo from the virtual fitting set and then receive a photo of themselves wearing a hanbok, traditional Korean dress, by email.

The Busan Hanbok Hall is located on the first floor of BEXCO auditorium and is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. It is closed on Mondays. Admission is free.

The last admission is 30 minutes before closing and is closed during lunch, which is from noon until 1 pm. Groups of more than 10 people need to make a reservation by calling 070-8840-1472.

To celebrate the Year of the Dog, the Busan Museum is holding an exhibition titled “Our Old Friend, Dog,” from Friday, February 9 to Sunday, July 1, 2018. The zodiac exhibition for the year has been held at the beginning of every year since 2007 to introduce our traditional folk culture, and to share a new hope and expectation for the new year with guests.

This exhibition will present a total of 12 pieces of dog-themed artwork, including Korean wood sculptures of dogs and, old and contemporary paintings of dogs.
