Traditions Alive at the 8th Nakdong River Guponaru Festival this Weekend

The Nakdong River Guponaru Festival is a national riverside festival that reenacts the old days of Guponaru, which had traditionally been a popular trade market with the residents who lived along the Nakdong River.

Reenacting the daily life of the people who resided there, the festival is filled with a variety of performances, experiences, and exhibitions along with local residents and local culture and art experts.

According to Dynamic Busan magazine, programs will include a folk village and its traditional market, as well as an event where visitors can enjoy wheat berries, taste Gupo noodles and sailboats. Aquatic performances will dazzle audiences, and people will be able to make use of the art market.

The event takes place this Friday through Sunday with the opening ceremony at 7 p.m. this Friday with performances and a 10-minute fireworks display.
